The Thrissur Branch of the Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) traces its roots back to June 10, 1981. This significant moment in its history was marked by a memorable inauguration ceremony graced by the esteemed presence of CA. V. Rajaraman, the then President of ICAI. A beacon of professionalism and excellence, the branch embarked on its journey to become a cornerstone of the accounting community in the region.

As the years progressed, the branch witnessed a remarkable evolution. In 1988, it reached a pivotal milestone when it transitioned to its dedicated premises, a move symbolizing its commitment to providing top-notch facilities and services to its members and aspiring professionals. This auspicious occasion was celebrated under the esteemed guidance of CA. Das Guptha, the President of ICAI at the time. With this transition, the Thrissur Branch ushered in a new era of growth and development.

At its core, the Thrissur Branch stands as a testament to the dedication and vision of its founding members and leaders. Under the leadership of CA. Sukumara Menon, who served as the first Chairman, and CA. C.K. Vasudevan, the first Secretary, the branch set out to carve a niche for itself in the realm of accounting education and professional development.

Nestled within its premises, spanning approximately 5000 square feet, it have an array of modern amenities designed to facilitate learning and collaboration, an impressive library, a conference hall that provides a versatile space for Seminars and Workshops, and well-equipped classrooms offering a conducive environment for interactive learning experiences.

Driven by a commitment to excellence and innovation, the Thrissur Branch embarked on a journey of expansion and enhancement. In a testament to its growth trajectory, the branch in 2014 unveiled its second building at Chiyyaram, Thrissur. Spanning an impressive 22,000 square feet, this new facility serves as a testament to the branch's dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its members and students. Complete with a 200-person capacity seminar hall, state-of-the-art classrooms, a dedicated reading room, and an ITT lab outfitted with the latest technology, the new building represents a significant milestone in the branch's continued pursuit of excellence.

From its humble beginnings with just 60 members in 1981, the Thrissur Branch has flourished into a thriving community of over 1000 members and 5000 students. Moreover, the Thrissur Branch stands out as one of the most recognized branches in South India, offering coaching classes to Chartered Accountancy students at the Foundation, Intermediate, and Final levels. Guided by a steadfast commitment to professionalism, integrity, and continuous learning, the branch remains steadfast in its mission to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the dynamic field of accountancy.
